I have been taking lots of photos recently. I enjoy my digital camera, but film's more fun. I like polaroids, instant photography and disposable cameras. They are easy to use and silly. I feel like they're sort of frowned upon , but are perfectly good and can produce interesting images. You don't feel much pressure to take good photos. See something interesting, snap a quick photo. Cool tree, snap a quick photo. Weird building, snap a quick photo. And so on.
In addition to just taking photos myself, I have come up with this:
The project: I give a person one disposable camera to fill up in whatever fashion they see fit before returning to me. I then have the photos developed, one copy for me and one for the photographer. I sift through the collection, pick my favorites and post them on the site. A fun collaboration where nobody has too much control.
